WITH WARNING TO CHECK EMOTION, JURY GETS 'PREPPIE MURDER'.(Local)

The case of the "preppie murder" - the Central Park killing of Jennifer Levin by Robert Chambers - was handed over to the jurors Thursday after the judge instructed them to keep their emotions in check.

The tall, pale defendant wiped his eyes and rubbed his hands together as state Supreme Court Justice Howard Bell sent the jury out to deliberate.

"He's scared," said 19-year Sean Pete, a Chambers friend. "He thought the prosecutor was very good (in her closing statement Wednesday). He's afraid they're not going to acquit him."
