Fed: Howard meeting with Mitsubishi ends
Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD has ended a meeting with Mitsubishi Motors chief operating
officer ROLF ECKRODT in Tokyo.
But he's made no announcement on the future of the company's Australian operations.
A spokeswoman for Mr HOWARD says Mitsubishi will be issuing a statement shortly.
Before the meeting, Mr HOWARD says all Australians -- especially the Mitsubishi workers
-- want the company to commit to Australia long-term.
Mr HOWARD is now on his way to meet the Japanese Prime Minister JUNICHIRO KOIZUMI.
