ABIX via COMTEX) -- Internet banking usage in Australia is increasing rapidly according to statistics from Market Intelligence Strategy Centre. It was reported on 10 April 2002 that the number of registered online users of banking services increased by 569,000 in the December 2001 quarter to a total of 4.67 million. According to Market Intelligence Strategy Centre data, online banking users hold an estimated 10 million accounts and in the six months to the end of the December 2001 transaction volumes increased by 35 per cent.
